It's interesting to me that often colors are used to describe things that aren't colors!
Yellow
Cowardly, chicken, having cold feet.
Gutless, craven, faint of heart, weak.
Pink
High colored, flush,
To scallop, to blush
Blue
Naughty, obscene,
Ultramarine,
Sad, depressed,
Heartsick, distressed
Purple
Off color, indecent
Vulgar, coarse
Dirty, improper,
Can it get worse?
Black
Dingy, squalid,
Stained, unclean,
Wicked, evil,
Bad and mean
