101 Safety Corridor

I've driven this section of road hundreds of times in the last two years and possibly thousands in the last thirty-two years.  It occurred to me that I'm familiar enough with it to write a poem about it.  Not my best effort, but it is heartfelt!

It's a road with a bad reputation
From the lives which were lost in the past,
With two dangerous T intersections
Where unfortunate folks breathed their last.

Signs and bright flashing lights try to warn us
To slow down and turn on our lights.
Fifty miles per hour is the law there,
Not sixty and not sixty-five.

Turn your headlights on and drive more safely,
All the laws do your best to obey.
They are there for you and your safety.
---You may live to see one more day.
